Came across from a&e at RSCH. Had surgery to remove my gallbladder. All went well. All the nurses were lovely and the consultant very efficient and professional. Highly recommend! First time I have ever had to be in hospital so a anxious time was made so much easier!
I had one appointment for back and hip pain with the orthopaedic consultant. I was kept waiting for around 45 minutes, whilst being constantly reassured by a somewhat harried-looking nurse that this was because the consultant in question was incredibly thorough and liked to take his time with patients. The eventual consultation, which cost 220, lasted no more than 15 minutes. The consultant in question was cold and not very empathetic. The appointment was at the end of the day and it felt like I was being hurried out. He asked very few questions, had a fairly dismissive tone and seemed unfamiliar with some of the nuances of my case, including relevant next treatment steps suggested by my pain management consultant at the Royal Surrey. Despite the cost, based on this experience I will now seek a scan and further consultation elsewhere.
I have had good service here previously - but more to do with the specific Doctor than the place. I have just tried to speak to someone regarding a health screening. I have spoken to three people, some screenings are done in the gym, some by doctors, none in the Guildford hospital, - it is just far too complicated - and no one actually seems to know what is going on.
I saw Dr Morris at the Allergy Clinic and he was very kind and helpful. My suspected allergies were diagnosed, and I was prescribed a cream which helped clear up the infected eczema on my hands (which had been tormenting me for months!) within 48 hours. My eczema has been under much better control ever since and my hands have had a chance to heal up. If you're troubled with skin or allergy issues, I strongly recommend skipping the six month long NHS waiting list and investing in a consultation at this clinic - I only wish I'd gone here first.
Excellent service and care, very professional and welcoming , puts the NHS and especially the RSCH to shame
