Department stores have been much maligned of recent times. But I think that can be very unfair. Yes, if you want or need a certain brand of item you may be better off going to their own store. But if you want to browse a wide range to get ideas and make comparisons this is an excellent alternative. I'm sure that the phrase under One Roof was created for the Great British weather! House of Fraser in Guildford has been here since the dawn of trading and hopefully will be here for many years to come. Highly recommend the tea shop on the top floor with its fabulous views over the town.
It is sad to see yet another department store struggling to survive on our high streets. Offering goods of high quality from a vast range of suppliers makes HOF a good place to start your choice of clothes etc. Sadly, quality is not necessarily buyers first choice any more.Despite the downturn, recommended.
my favourite House of Fraser. Very convenient shopping, good brands, generally friendly and helpful staff. OK coffee shop and toilets.
Had numerous issues with recent House of Fraser purchases online. We now pay for delivery and don't receive it next day (or indeed 5 days later) The courier service is appauling still waiting for goods 12 days later and can't call or chat to anyone at House of Fraser. Went into House of Fraser Guildford and Darren (manager) dealt with all my issues in a professional / charming manor. There are still excellent staff at House of Fraser but the new company policies and online ordering service is destroying the brand. On a positive I will only now purchase goods when I visit Guildford store as still a pleasure to visit .......Thanks Ed
Paradise for late shoppers like me. Shop virtually empty at 7.00 pm. Bought my Xmas presents and was out in 15 minutes. Personal service all the way and lots of reductions already. Take advantage and enjoy.
