Very nice. Recommended.

Fascinating little known stretch of the Wey and Godalming Navigation. This was one of Britains earliest canals built during the seventeenth century and predates the Grand junction canal. It was used to transport wood, grain and coal into London as well as munitions during the Napoleonic wars! It was originally part of a link that enabled craft to navigate from the south coast at Littlehampton to the river Thames, unfortunately now redundant in places.Do watch Prunella Scales and Timothy Wests great canal journeys which feature this navigation. There is a beautifully restored barge and a museum for children to gain an understanding of bargees lives and the materials they produced and transported, there is a bookshop and a tea room. Well worth a visit. children will love the pro-active illuminated display of how a lock works as well as how to tie a variety of knots. You can also try on bargees working clothes for photo opportunities!

Lovely and exciting day out for family's and Barge lifestyle heritage.I bought some good quality second hand books for my library.

A fascinating insight into life on a river barge. Plenty to see, good second-hand bookshop, small tearoom with outdoor seating. A small gem!

Fantastic boat ride with guide describing history of the river, lasts about 30 mins, cafe with out door dining area and small museum and preserved canal boat. Great place for all the family. Toilets and Parking is free.
