Awesome gym, clean. Really friendly staff, and a great place to go work out !!
The Gym Guildford is a good cost effective gym. After the recent refurbishment it has recently stepped up its game! With lots of new kit and space to work.My only criticisms are that it is often very busy, the free weights area is normally quite a mess and the variety of classes isnt massive. But this is understandable as the space the gym has isnt big enough for how popular it is for a budget gym in the area.
My former gym, but i left only as i moved out of the area. Good and cheap too.Large selection of equipment to use, staff always on hand should you have a query.great that it was open 24/7 and you could just come anytime, even christmas i'm told not that i tried it.
The gym is a good and well located. That is all I can say that is positive. The customer service is horrible. I have been a member for over 2 years and have frozen my account twice. This is a great feature they offer but beware. You need to monitor your account because they will restart your billing without notification once you have frozen the account. I did it online and on the phone and still had to deal with them taking 2 months from my account before I noticed, called them, and was told too bad. They know if you have attended the gym based on your sign in pin records so know that I did not go at all during that time. They aren't completely interested in modernization. They did a very expensive remodel yet failed to install a water fountain that allows you to fill reusable containers, which anyone would think was standard in a time of plastic concern.
The recent refurbishment and bringing in the new equipment has been a real game changer for this gym. Thoroughly enjoy my visits here each time. I love the wide variety of equipment now on offer. Helps change up the dynamics of your workout. Also, some apparatus there that you will not find in other gyms such as the hack squat machine as a notable example. However, it is ideal to come at less busy hours so you can have a quicker and more efficient workout without having to worry about waiting for someone to finish on what you need. What stops me giving TheGym Guildford 5 stars is the fact that there is not a great deal of space around the gym. Sometimes, everything feels a bit close together. But that is understandable given there is more equipment now. I do recommend this gym if you're after good gym sessions. Better than the Surrey Sports Park gym which just underwhelms massively.
