Formerly a Radisson Edwardian so a great start. You cant get a better location or staff. Underground car park a bonus
Stopped here on business, found the hotel to be excellent and the spa well equipped and relaxing. Breakfast was excellent and a wide variety of choice including full English and to go. Rooms were well presented and clean, with an ample bath and shower.
Great for G live venue. Good quality but the black rooms are dull. The Spa is over rated (though the treatments appear good). Odd bar area (probably best to eat and drink elsewhere). Worst view I've ever had from a hotel - not busy so unreasonable.
Modern, contemporary design. The hotel and room are nicely decorated. Staff at the reception are friendly and helpful. It is located at a very strategic location, only a short walk to the town centre. If you don't feel like dining in town on some of the days, there is also a restaurant at the hotel. I visited the restaurant a few times during my stay. The menu has good choices, reasonably priced. Overall, a good business hotel, convenient and has everything one needs for a business trip.
"Upscale lodging with spa" sounds good but, reality was far from it. Firstly, the reception was trendy but, rooms were tired with no ability to play music from my phone on the TV / Music system, a glazed window to nowhere, and the breakfast buffet was only slightly better than a Premier Inn. Secondly, the spa was not available for two days, rather disappointing when this was the primary reason for choosing the hotel. Even more disappointing was the hotel's response to my complaint, "should have read the fine print", the fine print that in retrospect can be found at the bottom of the second reservation page. Given the hotel actively promotes itself as a spa hotel, one would have thought it would be good practice to highlight any conditions of use, not bury them in the fine print that no one reads.Guildford itself was better than expected, unfortunately the hotel was not.
